Tacos anyone? Yes, please! Whenever I’m in South Florida there’s this one spot and I’m going to let you in on the secret. Located on Lincoln Road right in the heart of Miami Beach is Huahua’s Taqueria. I actually found this gem while watching the Food Network, on a show called Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. Thanks Guy!

Love at First Bite
I remember being so excited to see a local place close to me I could visit. Watching the owner Chef Todd Erickson make the first dish, he had me at Fried Chicken Tacos. I mean wow! One of my favorite indulgences in a taco?! I had to try it, and it did not disappoint.

Served in a Flour Tortilla with a Cabbage, Ancho Ranch sauce then topped with Jalapeno Cornbread Croutons and Cilantro. Such an explosion of flavors. That delicious looking item on a stick next to it is called an Elote, Mexican style Street Corn and a must-try. It is covered in a Spicy Mayo, Cotija Cheese, and Cilantro. The taste is tangy and sweet but it’s the perfect pairing with the Tacos.

Small, but Muy Mighty!
Huahua’s Taqueria is a small restaurant and has a few high top chairs on the side. But the outside seating is where you want to be. Enjoy your tacos in nice, breezy and bright Florida. Plus, you can people watch.

The restaurant’s kitchen may look small but they are cranking out some mighty flavors. From Shrimp, Steak, Chicken, Mahi, Pork, a nice meatless vegetarian option called the Hongos which is Roasted Portobello, Grilled Veggies, Spicy Tofu Crema, and Radish. There’s even a Breakfast Taco for those who may have partied a little too late and need a pick me up. With so many options, you are sure to find something to enjoy.

Having tried other tacos on the menu including the Grilled Mahi, Grilled Steak, and the Al Pastor which is a Pork Taco served with Charred Pineapple, Onion, Cilantro, and Crema. I always come back to my first choice being the Fried Chicken. I can’t deny the Chili Rubbed Shrimp, which is also packed with bold Flavor. But before you dive into their various Tacos or Burrito options you definitely need to have their Chips and Queso or Guacamole that are both to die for and will have you ordering seconds.

Give Me All the Tacos
Variety is the spice of life and with Huahuah’s Burritos, Quesadilla’s, and a massive Taco Salad that deserves an honorable mention. Whatever option you do decide on, they make a nice Margarita to pair with your meal. The flavors are Lime or Strawberry. I like to mix mines. So whether you swing by in the afternoon for the lunch rush or crave a late-night fix, this place will definitely satisfy.
As they say in Spanish, Buen Provecho!
